Roses are red....Poppies is Green!!

Poppies is striving every day to find ways to be more environmentally responsible.

Examples of our efforts;

*  we source out BC growers wherever possible, and support local Island wholesalers.

*  we strive to buy attractive and reusable vases and containers that the recipients will want to keep, not throw away.  NO plastic dishes.

*   we offer a "Vase for credit" option, so that if you don't want to keep your vase or ceramic container, you can bring it back to us for a credit towards your next purchase, or in exchange for a flower or two.

*  we use recycled/ recyclable paper to wrap our bouquets. We have reduced our cellophane us by at least 90%. (Cellophane is NOT recyclable. "Biodegradable" cello takes 500 years to break down, and although better, we still feel paper is the way to go.)

*  we happily take back gerbera straws, raffia, waterpicks, cardettes (those little plastic forks that hold the card), and whatever else you want not to throw away.  We wash and reuse whenever possible.

*  we are moving to the Atrium, where we will compost all our biodegradable waste.

*   we only use ribbon when requested. (No birds, no bows, no butterflies!!)
